Melanie Swain-Knapp (she/her/hers)

Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sex Therapist with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
Melanie has worked in a variety of clinical settings including: women's health, at-risk and under-served youth, residential and substance abuse facilities, community outreach and private practice. She holds a Masters of Social Work and a Master of Education in Human Sexuality from Widener University in Chester, PA. She has completed specialized training as a therapist to work with individuals and couples surrounding aspects of sexuality including intimacy, sensuality, sexual health and behaviors, and relationships.
Melanie provides an empathic and caring environment with plenty of humor. As a hands-on and interactive therapist, she is always honored to have folks share their personal experiences and challenges with her. She strongly believes that it is important to walk out of sessions with strategies in hand to immediately begin the work towards therapy goals. Whether it is working on a technique or practicing self-care, she values learning concrete skills to use outside of the therapy space. Melanie uses an integrative approach of interventions from cognitive behavioral, narrative, systems, and solution-focused therapies. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
When not in session, Melanie enjoys chowing down on yummy food and exploring the outdoors with her kiddos and Giant Schnauzer.
